Wilderness Festival 2014
A Celebration shaped by nature, a landscape transformed by the arts
7 – 10 August 2014
Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire
Together - on Thursday, Friday and Sunday - EFDSS and The Local will present some of the brightest new talents alongside established artists on the British folk scene. The Travelling Folk Barn will have a chilled-out village fete style vibe, with a musical programme spanning the very traditional to the very experimental. In addition to performances, festivalgoers will have opportunities to take part in creative folk arts activities too! We’re planning afternoon singing and dance workshops and rip-roaring evening ceilidhs.
We’ll be announcing details of the Travelling Folk Barn programme in the coming weeks and months, so keep an eye on the What’s on section of our website for details. Two for Joy Music will be programming Saturday’s programme in the Travelling Folk Barn.
Outside the Travelling Folk Barn: the best of the rest
Hailed as one of the most idyllic, eclectic and gloriously paradisiacal events on the festival calendar, this year Wilderness will mix together the absolute cream of the crop in music, food, theatre and the literary arts across four magnificent days.
Turning the forests of the sleepy Cotwolds into a magical fantasy land, there will be: long table banquets with Simon Rogan, Angela Hartnett, Russell Norman; feasts and gastronomy; late night revelry; spectacular processions and fire shows; tented theatre, art and promenade performances; talks, debates and literary arts curated by Secret Forum, with support from The Huffington Post UK; outdoor pursuits and wellbeing; family magic and games.
