Andy May Trio

Rosie Hood | Andy May Trio

- (Doors: 7pm)

Cecil Sharp House, London

A double headline show from two rising folk artists.

Rosie Hood is a young folk singer from Wiltshire. A former BBC Performing Arts Fellow and a 2016 Horizon Award nominee at the Radio 2 Folk Awards, Rosie is known for her strong, pure voice and engaging solo performance. Rosie’s Fellowship year with the English Folk Dance and Song Society in 2015 proved a pivotal point in her career, giving her time and space to develop as an artist.

The Andy May Trio sees three award-winning musicians from Newcastle – Northumbrian piper Andy May (Jez Lowe and The Bad Pennies, Baltic Crossing), guitarist Ian Stephenson (Kan, Baltic Crossing) and fiddler Sophy Ball (422, Bottle Bank Band) – come together to play high energy instrumental folk, inspired by the music of their native North East.

Promoted by EFDSS.
