At the heart of English folk
Be part of the Future of Folk

Support us

As a charity, we rely on your support to deliver our national programmes of music, dance, education and artistic development.

There’s never been a better time to support folk. Every donation you make between now and 2019 is matched by Arts Council England – so you can double your gift without having to do anything extra!

If you would like to support the next generation of folk artists, there are several ways you can help us.

Make a donation online

You can make a donation securely online today. All donations will be doubled by Arts Council England. If you can gift aid it too, that means £10 is worth £22.50 to us!

Your gift will mean that more people can join in the folk arts, more folk teachers will be supported, and more artists will receive help at crucial stages in their careers.

You can choose to give to a specific department using the tiles on the right.

Make a regular gift to the future of folk

Music, song, dance, storytelling, customs and traditions: The traditional folk arts have been a huge part of the rich and diverse cultural landscape of the UK for hundreds of years. Since 1932 we’ve worked to champion the traditional folk arts. We run a vibrant programme spanning education, music, dance, artist development and more, both nationwide and at our London headquarters Cecil Sharp House.

We’re here to make sure that these art forms don’t die out, and that future generations are able to love folk as much as we do.

But we need your help.

Find out how you can help us keep folk alive for future generations.

Leave a legacy

Recently, thanks to the incredible generosity of supporters leaving gifts to EFDSS in their wills, we have been able to create a dedicated archive space in the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library, install a lift in Cecil Sharp House, employ a Dance Development Manager, and much more.
